A Smooth Start: The Year 7 Transition Program at CLC

Starting Year 7 is a whirlwind of emotions – excitement for new beginnings, anticipation of possibilities and maybe even butterflies! We get it. Our aim is to provide a transition program which prepares our students for the changes and challenges they face as they undertake their new schooling journey.

At Catholic Ladies’ College (CLC), we want the transition from Grade 6 to Year 7 to be a warm welcome into our vibrant school community. That’s why we’ve tailored the Year 7 transition program to cater for our wonderful new CLC students.

Our unique, six week ‘Thrive’ program focuses on building confidence, academic success and facilitating the development of friendships. We’ll equip your daughter with the knowledge to confidently navigate the beautiful College grounds, learn essential study skills and time-management techniques, as well as experiencing a taste of the wide variety of opportunities that CLC has to offer.

We hope that through our extensive Thrive program, students will arrive to CLC on their first day of Year 7 feeling confident, capable and excited to begin this significant new chapter in their lives.

We value your partnership as a parent. We’ll keep you informed with regular updates and opportunities to connect with our dedicated Year 7 team.

Together, let’s make your daughter’s transition to CLC a smooth and enriching experience.

Student Digital Device Program 2027

We are moving from a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model to a standardised laptop program, ensuring every student has access to the same device, software and learning tools. This provides a more consistent learning experience, enhanced online safety and greater support for families.

The benefits include:
• A consistent learning environment, with every student using the same device and software.
• Enhanced security through school-managed devices and cybersecurity measures.
• Comprehensive accidental damage cover, with repairs managed by our on-site IT team and same-day replacement devices available where possible.

The device has been carefully selected to support learning at CLC and includes all required software and licences. Laptops will be fully configured by our IT team before the start of Term 1, reducing setup time and ensuring students are ready to learn from day one. Families will collect their device in January 2027.

Purchasing devices in bulk allows us to secure more competitive pricing for families in an increasingly unpredictable technology market. While the device will be managed by CLC for security and support purposes, it remains the property of your family. If your child leaves the College, the laptop will be reset, removed from our systems and remain yours to keep.

Pricing is currently being finalised, with flexible payment options available for all families.

CLC Attributes

At CLC, our attributes form the heart of our community and shape the character of our students. The core attributes of Courage, Responsibility, Excellence, Wisdom and Belonging reflect what we aspire to instill in every member of our College. Each of these values represents a distinct goal for our students, staff and parents, guiding their actions and fostering a strong, united community that thrives on these principles.
