Young people have an ever-increasing range of career possibilities and options open to them. Our comprehensive and integrated Careers Program in Years 9 and 10 encourages students to explore both the world of work and their personal aspirations. In addition, our qualified Careers Counsellors provide an extensive and individual interview system. The Year 11 Work Experience program offers valuable opportunities to explore future vocational choices.
Students at all year levels are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the wide range of resources and, in the senior years, are given formal instruction in accessing relevant computer programs. The College Careers Program incorporates two widely accredited personality and ability profiling programs at Years 10 and 12. These assist student self-awareness and provide a useful starting-point for further career exploration.
In Years 11 and 12 the emphasis is on individual Careers Counselling where each girl is helped to make decisions about her future directions and the many possible ways of achieving her goals. Students and their parents are able to make appointments with the Careers Counsellors to assist with areas of concern. Our regular Careers activities provide a further opportunity for students in the senior levels to acquire first hand knowledge about a variety of career options and the many post-secondary courses open to them.
